Wind Farm
The Kennedy Wind Farm site is located 70kms north of Hughenden, North Queensland. It is expected that the Kennedy Wind Farm may have up to 300 wind turbines converting wind into electricity for use by households and industry. Approval to be sought from the Flinder Shire Council in late 2011.
Kennedy Wind Farm will strengthen the regional economy by injecting up to $80 Million of economic activity into this region and will create around 240 direct jobs during construction and approximately 40 full time operational jobs once built. A further 120 jobs are expected to flow from expenditure in the community, everywhere from the local supermarket to electricity and earthwork contractors and local cafes.
